Some people love mismatched socks because they add a fun pop of color or personality to an outfit, while others prefer to stick to matching socks for a more polished look. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide what you feel most comfortable and confident wearing.
These mismatched animal socks teach kids to embrace their differences, and those of their peers. By wearing mismatched socks, decidedly not a societal norm, kids are also being taught that it's cool to stand out by breaking the mold.
The idea of mismatched socks as well as the date, 3/21, signifies the uniqueness of the 3rd chromosome on chromosome number 21 in people with DS, also known as “Trisomy 21.” The condition is labeled “Down Syndrome” after Dr. John Langdon Down, the doctor who discovered it.
If you think about it, though, half socks are the same as walking on a no-show or ankle sock that's slipped halfway down your foot. Half socks simply cut out the irritating sock bunch, and its absence makes all the difference.
